Carly writes detective novels. Her husband, Kevin, an actor, teaches in New York. Their couple going through a crisis, they come to recharge their batteries on Crawford Island, in a huge old mansion. News that a bestselling author is on the island circulates the small town of Pleasance Bay. Carly, to pass the time, decides to investigate the Crawfords, the former owners of the house.
