"Vikings" To Lay Down Their Swords After Season 6

It's soon time to say goodbye to Vikings. On Friday morning, came news that the hit series on History will end after its upcoming sixth season. The show is currently airing the back half of its explosive fifth season, so fans will be understandably sad that things are coming to an end. Season 6 will consists of the show's regular 20-episode order, likely broken into two parts. The good news however, is that creator Michael Hirst is already working on a follow-up series. While details are slim, it's assumed that the show will also be historical.

Season 5 airs its finale on Wednesday, January 30th.
