Vetkoekpaleis was the second popular sitcom comedy from the pen of Willie Esterhuizen, to Orkney Snork Nie. The only notable difference was that Willie himself played a role in Vetkoekpaleis interpreted as ... "Worsie", "Frikkadel's" assistant in the vetkoekrestaurant. The series of 65 episodes was extremely popular because of its typically Afrikaans humour and often naughty between-the-lines text. Other celebrities in Vetkoekpaleis is Zach du Plessis (Frikkadel), Helene Truter (Poppie), Alvin Bruinders (Sheridan), Liane Heyl de Villiers (Boeboe) and Marga van Rooy (Ella). The story begins when Frikkadel Delport starts his own take-away business after his work had reduced working staff. He hired assistants, with varying results. Frik realize that it is not always so easy to run your own business , especially if you also have a wife to keep happy!
