In the late 1960s, after a lifetime of perfecting his classic Indian motorcycle, Burt Munro sets off from Invercargill, New Zealand, to test his bike's speed at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. With all odds against him and taking on a new world, Burt with his irrepressible personality makes fast friends, who rally for him on his quest for glory.
