Martin Böhm is satisfied with his life. As a district manager of an internationally successful company, he lives and works alongside his wife Sabine, his daughter Tonie and his mother Hilde in the fields, where he converted his father's sawmill into the "Wolfsmühle" house. However, the family's happiness is deceptive: repressed conflicts erupt, and when Martin's brother, who thinks himself lost, shows up one day, his marriage threatens to break up.
