Comedy
After his separation from Wiebke, the farmer Joe travels to Thailand with his friend, Pastor Otmar, and falls in love with Lamai, whom Otmar marries with him on the beach. Back on the farm, which he runs together with his embittered father Hans, the dreary everyday life catches up with him. Even before Joe tells Hans about his Thai wife, Lamai suddenly stands at the door. Hans wants the supposed "prostitute" from the farm, but Joe rebels against his father for the first time in his life: Lamai stays in the cold country, "where it's beautiful", as Joe promised her in Thailand. The next morning, after a wild night of love, Joe lies dead and with a happy smile next to Lamai in bed. The opening of the will surprises the whole village: Lamai is the sole heir, Hans only has the right to live on the farm. While Hans and Lamai try to show each other at least mutual respect for their different ways of mourning, Wiebke begins to spin an intrigue to defame Lamai as an inheritance stalker
