In New York, the German engineer Bernd Geldern met the newspaper vendor Ju-Ju, who would like to be successful as a singer and who sings the song "Dreams of Love" in a bar. When boxer Sicki tries to get close to Ju-Ju, Geldern stands next to her and knocks out Sicki. But then Sicki is assassinated and suspicion falls on Geldern and Ju-Ju, who travel to Berlin. Sicki's manager, George Derbrock, an old friend of Geldern's, follows them. He wants to extort money, but is later found murdered in his apartment. The police arrest Geldern, but Ju-Ju suspects who the real perpetrator was.
