Loni, the waitress at the Schwappler family, and Learl, the forest warden's son, are in love with each other. However, Loni's brother, the poacher Hias, forbids Loni to handle Learl. There are dramatic conflicts, attempted murder, betrayal and reconciliation, but in the end everything turns out for the best for everyone involved.
