Anna and Bogdan's heavy hearted decision to say goodbye to each other is put to a severe test: Anna is pregnant, she decides to have an abortion without involving Bogdan. As is so often the case, however, events in a small community like those of the three women at the Pichlerhof cannot be kept secret. Burgi notifies Bogdan. But Anna's strategy of remaining silent also entangles him in a chain of disastrous misunderstandings. Once again Anna gets into big conflicts with her thick skull. In the end, it is Burgi, the old granny, who, with her bluntly egocentric wisdom of old age, gives fate a turnaround.
