The king is gravely ill, and his only daughter, Princess Michaela, learns of an ancient legend about the miraculous crown of King Svarog, which could heal her father. She sets out in search of a lost kingdom, but along the way she needs to shoe a horse and sharpen a sword. Therefore, she stops in the village and looks for the blacksmith Martin, a good-hearted, hard-working young man who has been blind since birth. He and the princess fall in love, and when she does not return from the dangerous journey, Martin goes after her. He is accompanied by an elf, who will give him good advice and cheerful company in exchange for a sweet bun.
