Anno Domini 1381. Chivalry is in decline. The Rossknecht Konrad rides in the armor of his dead knight. His goal: retrospectively to save the honor of his master, who was executed on the wheel. But time is changing. Fidelity is no longer valid and plague, bad harvests and highwaymen hit the population. Konrad leads a life on a knife edge. His role model, the Frankish knight Ekkelin Geyling, became a pawn in a feud and from then on spread fear and terror as a robber baron.
