Giovanna, Miranda, Agnese and Costanza work as secretaries in the branch of a large insurance company. At the top of the company, however, an earthquake arrives: the big boss, the powerful Dr. Verbieri is forced to resign for personal reasons and his departure from the scene triggers a struggle for succession among the top executives. Even the secretaries feel their positions are wavering even more than their bosses and it will be the beginning of a long series of internal struggles to win the position by any means.
