At the centre of the series is Hans-Josef ‘Hajo’ Eichwald, a detached member of the German Bundestag who has lost his vision and ambitions after 30 years in the daily grind of politics. Eichwald now only has his own personal livelihood in mind and, in his late 50s, is hardly motivated to represent the interests of the people.
