At the age of twelve, Artur, who was baptized Mossoró, was paralyzed when he fell from a horse given by his father Gregório, who never managed to overcome this tragedy and ended up rejecting his son. Clarice cannot live with this situation between her son and her husband and decides to run away with her firstborn to Curaçao. The years pass and Artur grows with hatred and desire for revenge against his father, Clarice, when realizing her son's thirst for revenge, reveals to him that Gregório is not his biological father in order to alleviate this desire. But that doesn't happen, Arthur ends up putting his mother in a Psychiatric Clinic so she doesn't get in the way of his revenge.
