On his return from Louisiana in 1865, Hippolyte de Mettray decided to use the profits from his last business trip to buy the castle of Mauregard in Touraine, the castle of his ancestors. This saga begins in 1865 and runs until the 1970s narrating the fortunes and misfortunes of the Mettray dynasty.
