The boatswain Chaika, a womanizer and a bachelor who cannot imagine life without the sea, returns to his hometown of Primorsk from another voyage. But, to his misfortune, the shipping company issues an order that all singles will be written off to the shore. The authorities set a condition for Chaika: in order to stay in the Navy, the boatswain must find a wife in two weeks.
