Eight of Germany's most talented chainsaw carvers compete against each other to saw sculptures out of tree trunks. “Mr. Universum” Ralf Moeller challenges the creativity and technical skills of the candidates in six rounds. With muscle strength, endurance, strategy and sensitivity for brute machines, the carvers are supposed to create impressive art under time pressure. The results are evaluated by a jury consisting of Sylvia Itzen, one of the best carvers in Germany, and the renowned artist Tim Bengel. The winner will win the title “Chainsaw Master” and 10,000 euros. The ARD promises adrenaline, thrills and magic made of wood.
