A night school in Tokyo holds a mix of students with vastly varied backgrounds. 21-year-old Yanagida Taketo cannot escape a life of delinquency, while 43-year-old Koshikawa Angela, whose mother is from the Philippines, has nearly given up on academic success. 16-year-old Natori Kasumi suffers from Orthostatic dysregulation and "attends" her classes from the school nurse's office. 76-year-old Nagamine Shozo is reclaiming the high school education denied him in his youth. To this disparate group arrives a mysterious new science teacher, Fujitake. With his lead, the students begin work to recreate a "Martian crater" to present at an academic conference. With disability, family issues, and poisonous relationships standing in their way, can the students of the science club beat the odds to achieve the impossible?
