Atze Schröder lives with his adoring blond-naive girlfriend "Biene" in Essen-Kray and runs a kiosk that is right in front of his apartment. Although Atze pays his temporary worker Murat Günaydin badly and lets him do the dirty work again and again, he is quite good friends with him. His regular guests include bodybuilder Harry Möller, who regularly cheats on his girlfriend, police officer Viktor Schimanek, who regularly helps Atze out of a mess and ensures that his regulatory offenses will not be pursued further, as well as Atze's choleric landlord Richard “Pläte” Plattmann.
