Upon the sudden death of their father Elinor, Marianne, and Margaret Dashwood find themselves homeless along with their widowed mother. The family winds up in the country settled into a modest home where the impetuous Marianne is quickly courted by two men. Following one of the men to London, Marianne foists Elinor into a tragic situation of her own, resulting in broken hearts for both women and the realization that when it comes to life and love -- both sense and sensibility should be pursued.
