In a small town in Puglia devastated by war, lives Sciusciù, a mute and homeless fifty-year-old with the soul and mind of a child. One night Sciusciù witnesses the landing of three paratroopers of the allied forces: he immediately decides to help them and lead them to Annamaria's cottage, a friend he trusts her, managing to convince her to offer him protection.
