When Roy, an elderly Quebecois, suddenly keels over after an afternoon of hard drinking, his Filipina wife Ruby is left to figure out how she and her son Levi are going to survive. After she puts the house up for sale, Roy's drug addled daughter from a previous marriage, Marie Claire, shows up and threatens to kick Ruby out. Marie Claire plans to sell the house to make some quick cash with her equally troubled boyfriend, Florent, but she grows wary of his drug addiction, which is beginning to consume their relationship. Meanwhile, Ruby's son Levi has problems of his own: his girlfriend is pregnant and he doesn't believe he's the father.
