One day, Miki and her classmates hear about a frightening legend associated with the Noh mask at the temple from the chief priest. The moment the mask, which is just like the face of the priest (Maro Akaji), was removed, he ceased to exist. Only the mask was left behind. Ever since they heard this story, something unusual starts happening to the children too. Miki receives a strange phone call from her friend, Aki, who tells her that her face is coming off. Right after the call, Aki suddenly disappears. She had said, “There was the sound of my face coming off in my ears when I placed my hand on my face.” One day, Miki hears this sound too. She shudders with fear that she will disappear too. There is the shadow cast by a suspicious-looking man following her around. A horrifying truth is brought to light.
