Chef Monica has put a big stop to her childhood in the Limburg village of Gulpen. She has severed all ties with the province, even changed her name and is now making waves with her dishes in a popular hotspot in Amsterdam. When she and her boyfriend want to open a new restaurant in a dream place, she is forced to go back to her roots to cut the last ties. In the Limburg village she soon comes face to face with her childhood sweetheart. It turns out that a lot has changed over the years, but is even more familiar than she expected. Monica has to choose again: does her future really lie in the big city?
