Alessandro Dominici, an Olympic swimming champion, is forced to interrupt his competitive career for health reasons. From the age of 12 he has been traumatized by his father's drowning death, for which he thinks he is responsible. After being mocked at by his colleagues and his coach, he welcomes an offer from a friend who convinces him to train boys, with a criminal record, in the sport of swimming and with any luck provide them with a future that avoids jail.
