Die Alpensaga is a 6-part television drama by Peter Turrini and Wilhelm Pevny. He deals with the problems of the rural population from 1900 to 1945. In doing so, he breaks away from the cliché portrait of rural life. A critical presentation of social structures in rural areas was as important to the two authors as a presentation of the effects of the political crises of the first half of the 20th century in a small town in Upper Austria.
