Alex is a notorious con artist who has been in prison for several years. A judge offers him parole in exchange for secretly assisting the police. He accepts and ends up staying with his daughter, Sophie, a police lieutenant, with whom he has a strained relationship. He discovers he has a granddaughter, Vally, who wants to become a con artist like him.
