The physician Dr. Robert Kolmaar "changes fronts", from successful doctor to forensic pathologist Kolmaar, when a little girl becomes the victim of a gross surgical error by his father-in-law. Robert Kolmaar then decides to turn his back on his father-in-law for all time, along with his clinic, his broken marriage and his career. For his professional colleagues, this change makes him a "traitor".
