In Curral, Joel is a lawyer who is in the dispute for the election of councilors in the city of Gravatá, in Pernambuco. He decides to invite his old friend Chico Caixa (Thomás Aquino) to participate in the campaign, garnering votes from a simple neighborhood in the municipality through the promise of a water supply. Despite his apprehension, Chico accepts, but finds himself crossed by conflicting forces as he questions the ethics of this type of campaign.
