The action of the film "Hatred" begins in the spring of 1939 in a small village inhabited by Ukrainians, Poles and Jews. Zosia Głowacka is 17 years old and in love with her peer, the Ukrainian Petra. However, her father decides to marry her off to a rich Polish farmer, Maciej Skiba, a widower with two children. Soon war breaks out and the village's life is changed first by the Soviet occupation and then by the German attack on the USSR. Zosia becomes a witness and then a participant of the tragic events triggered by the rising tide of Ukrainian nationalism. The climax of the attacks comes in the summer of 1943. Amidst a sea of hatred, Zosia tries to save herself and her children.
