Set during the early years of the twentieth century and tells the story of Peppino, Titina and Eduardo, three brothers who live in Naples together with the made Luisa. His father, Eduardo Scarpetta, is often absent, because he is actually his mother's uncle and is a well-known actor and playwright, the most famous of that period. Although they are not legitimate children the man recognizes the three young people and introduces them to the world of theater since childhood. However, this strong bond established between father and children is not strong enough for the society of the time and on Scarpetta's death they receive nothing of his inheritance, shared among the legitimate offspring. To the three young De Filippo, however, the father left something even more important, a special legacy: talent. Thanks to this great gift, the three brothers overcome the family shock by joining their forces and starting to follow in their father's footsteps, transforming their life into art.
