Inspector Hannah Mangold returns to her old office after a long stay in the psychiatric ward. She's still suffering from anxiety since an escaped inmate shot and killed her daughter and her colleague Ulf Habermann has now taken over her former position as head of department. Paired up with Lucy Palm, the youngest and brashest investigator in the department, Lucy is initially suspicious of Hannah, but soon learns to appreciate her.
