In 1947 Los Angeles, police detectives Dwight "Bucky" Bleichert and Lee Blanchard investigate the infamous murder of actress Elizabeth Short. Her death leads to a discovery of corruption and an obsession which develops between two colleagues that threatens to destroy their very lives.
