A young, orphaned J.R.R. Tolkien finds friendship, love, and artistic inspiration amongst a fellow group of outcasts at school, long before his legendary novels will earn him notoriety. When the chaos and danger of WWI threatens to tear the "fellowship" he has built apart, the strife will inspire Tolkien to write his famous Middle-Earth novels.
