The stone monkey was imprisoned in the Valley of Complaints because of repeated violations of Tian Tiao. Master Tongxuan asked him to put on a curse to protect the people from the lower realm, but the stone monkey refused to follow it. Somebody led him to escape from the lower realm of Heaven and reborn as Hua Xiaotian.
